A Cross-Platform AI App for Gut Health

🥗 How We Built FODMAP Coach

At Kesem Solutions, we build cross-platform AI-driven apps that solve real problems — fast. Our latest project, FODMAP Coach, tackles one of the most common yet underserved health challenges: managing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) using the low FODMAP diet.

We didn’t start with a big platform or fancy dashboard. We started with one question:

“Can we make digestive health advice feel like texting a trusted expert?”

Why Choose the AI FODMAP Coaching app?

Most health apps start with cloud sync. We did the opposite.

We made FODMAP Coach 100% offline to keep things lightweight and private. All user data stays on-device. AI requests are sent only when the user interacts with the chatbot — and we let users pick which LLM handles their queries.

FODMAP AI Coach is now live on Google Play and the App Store.
Built by a small team, optimized for your gut.

🧠 Why Personalization Matters in Health AI

One of the biggest challenges in digital health isn’t lack of information — it’s too much of it, with little context. Many users trying the low FODMAP diet find themselves overwhelmed by long food lists, complicated charts, or apps that don’t adapt to their lifestyle. That’s exactly where personalized AI comes in.

FODMAP Coach doesn’t just list foods — it interprets them based on the user’s personal inputs: dietary restrictions, symptom triggers, and preferences. The onboarding flow captures basic goals (e.g., “reduce bloating” or “learn the diet”), and the chatbot tailors its tone, suggestions, and examples accordingly.

We also built a flexible system that allows users to choose their AI backend — OpenAI’s ChatGPT by default, but also Groq, Claude, or Gemini — giving them more transparency and control. Users who care about data privacy, performance, or regional restrictions can make the call.

Our goal was to simulate the experience of texting a knowledgeable friend who knows your body, your diet, and your symptoms. No endless scrolling or searching, just quick answers in plain English — with medical citations included.

This personalized approach isn’t just good UX — it’s critical in healthcare. Research shows that user adherence to therapeutic diets increases significantly when guidance is individualized. We believe that AI can (and should) make that process more human, not less.

With every new feature we add — from food tracking to reintroduction planning — we’re keeping this principle front and center: personalized, accessible health advice that feels like it was made just for you.

We’re just getting started. FODMAP Coach is built to grow with user feedback and real-world needs. From expanding our food database to integrating wearable health data, we’re focused on delivering practical, AI-powered tools that improve gut health day by day. If you’re navigating IBS or exploring the low FODMAP lifestyle, this app was built for you—private, personalized, and always evolving to serve you better.
